Machine Ltd is the sole distribution partner of La Cimbali in New Zealand. That means the people who import, install and support La Cimbali machines here are the same people who service yours. Our Auckland workshop in Wairau Valley has repaired and maintained espresso machines for over 15 years, and we service every current La Cimbali model, as well as older machines still working hard in cafés around the country.

Common La Cimbali faults we fix

Leaking group head: usually a worn group gasket or shower screen. These are routine service parts and should be replaced regularly.

Inconsistent shot volumes: often a flowmeter or solenoid valve issue on volumetric machines, or scale restricting water flow.

Temperature or pressure drifting: scale build-up in the boiler or heat exchangers, a failing pressure switch or sensor, or a pump that needs adjusting.

Weak or wet steam: a scaled or worn steam valve, or a blocked steam tip.

Milk system problems on S-series machines: poor foam or milk temperature is usually a cleaning or milk-line issue. We service the milk module and retrain staff on the daily clean.

Grind inconsistency: worn burrs or a grinder needing recalibration.
How often should a La Cimbali be serviced?
For most cafés we recommend a preventative service every 6 to 12 months, depending on how many coffees you make a day. Busy sites and fully automatic machines benefit from the shorter interval. A regular service replaces the wear parts (group gaskets, shower screens), checks for scale, and calibrates pressure and temperature, so a small problem doesn't become a breakdown on your busiest morning.
Daily cleaning still matters: backflushing the groups on traditional machines, and running the automatic cleaning cycle on S-series machines. Ask us and we'll show your team the right routine.
Service pricing
All prices exclude GST. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.

On-site labour: $115 per hour (30 minute minimum)

Standard call-out: $115 (includes travel within 20 km)

Emergency call-out: $163.50 – a technician on site within 2 hours, guaranteed

After hours (weekdays 6–8am and 6–8pm, weekends and public holidays): $163.50 per hour and $163.50 call-out

Travel beyond 20 km: $1.04 per km
Parts are quoted separately. A typical preventative service on a 2 group machine takes about 2 to 3 hours.

We cover all of Auckland from our Wairau Valley workshop: the CBD and central suburbs, the North Shore, West and South Auckland. We also service La Cimbali machines in Waikato, Northland, Whangārei and Tauranga, with travel charges. Wherever you are in New Zealand, we support La Cimbali owners with training and over-the-phone technical support.

How long does a La Cimbali service take?
A preventative service on a 2 group machine usually takes 2 to 3 hours on site. The machine can't be used while we work, so we're happy to book early mornings or quieter times.
